PLMA Book Project

PLMA Annual Reports book projects, featured in the Parallax View exhibition, explores the Corporate Annual Report – the typical annual reporting made by corporations to their stock holders. PLMA explores the information included in this report format through the lens of abstraction. In this era, following the great recession, PLMA asks how much does the growing abstraction by the financial services industry of economic production effect the ability of stock holders to truly understand the information provided. We posit that the expanding complication of monetary procedures and policies blurs the line between the understanding of sound accounting practices with the exuberance of elites for the market.
